Best International NYE Destinations
For some people, New Year’s Eve is for reflecting on the past year’s memories, goals, downfalls and burnouts. It gives you the time to re-evaluate your future goals and generate a new, New Year’s Resolution. However, for others, NYE is a social observance holiday where many people party, drink, eat, dance and watch or light fireworks. Either way, NYE should be celebrated doing something you love! You only get one chance to exit this year and enter the new one.
Would you be surprised if I told you more people visit Sydney, Australia than New York City for NYE? Welp, shock value just went up! I was surprised too. Sydney is the first place that strikes midnight before everyone else. They host a massive fireworks display over Sydney Harbour that features a different 1 minute display for each month of the year, so you get a 12 minute showcase full of illuminating lights, fireworks, candle streaming. Be sure to stop at Bondi Beach for the ultimate outdoor party to dance your way into the New Year.
The most dressed to impress place to visit for NYE! You can show off your debonair style at the Dubai Opera or attend the Glamorous Gala at the iconic Atlantis, The Palm. Guests in attendance binge on premium liquors, lobster and caviar dishes all while singing and dancing to lavish entertainment. The Burj Khalifa, world’s tallest building, stands in Dubai and hosts NYE with a major fireworks show. The best way to see the show is from the top floor in one of the cities towering skyscrapers.
Rio De Janeiro, Brazil
You shouldn’t need a reason to visit Rio, but if you do, NYE is the time. Head to Copacabana Beach for some of the best parties, food and fun. Bring your all white for good luck and be ready to turn up for the New Year. It’s summer in Brazil so leave the long pants and hoodies at home. You should probably leave your good clothes at home too as I’ve heard the party gets lit, champagne showers!
Cape Town, South Africa
The Mother Land has to be on the list as the place to throw down and bring in the New Year. Table Mountain is the best place to sit, reflect on the past year’s ups and downs and watch the fireworks at midnight with no obstructed views, plus you get that hike in. Keep partying into New Year’s Day with festivals, parades and pop-up shows throughout the city. If you’re feeling fancy, go buy a ticket to a private beach club soiree, showstoppers only!
NYE is a Big Deal in London. You can see fireworks from just about anywhere in the city, hilltops, rooftops, city restaurants and the obvious, ever so dope, European river cruises. Watch out though, it’s so popular along the Thames that they now sell tickets to attend. Make sure you show up well-rested, people spill out in the streets for endless partying after Big Ben signals the New Year celebration.
