Panama Party Guide
It’s no secret that Panamanians love to party. Surprisingly, I never considered Panama (the country, not the city in Florida) when I thought of travelling to party. However, after a flight sale dropped, it was up for full consideration. Panama City is known for it’s nightlife diversity with wine bars, posh lounges, laid back bars and underground pubs throughout. The party districts are spread across the Panama regions depending on locale. The nightlife in Casco Viejo is arguably one of the best. It’s the hip, social, old city area full of open-air rooftop bars, eclectic restaurants, art mural covered walls, galleries and 20-30 somethings populating the streets. This area attracts locals and tourists from all walks of life. There’s something for everyone here. As long as you’re on a liquid diet, it’s a Vibe! After spending a few hours on Google, Casco Viejo was added to the destination list and my ticket was purchased for a party weekend abroad, Passport Stamps Matter! Here’s my list of top party destinations in Casco Viejo:
Casa Jaguar/ Av Central and Calle 11
This place gets live! Once up a steep flight of stairs, you can hear Reggaeton/Hip hop mixes and chart toppers from the club inside, while the outdoor patio plays a mix of house/electronic music. This was the best party I experienced in Panama. Wall-to-wall hunnies, both male and female, just a crowd of pure attraction, great drinks, great music and good vibes only.
La Septima/ Av Central and Calle 11
Small trendy bistro bar/restaurant turned nightclub after hours, next door to Casa Jaguar, with great drinks/food and decent music. Art mural walls surrounding the high top tables and the DJ is spinning mainly Latin tunes and salsa dance vibes.
Tantalo/ Calle 8 Este con, Av. B
This hotel rooftop bar provides the perfect energy for a party atmosphere catered to the young hip crowd. String lights, city views and live performances create a vibe here. Go Thursday, it’s Ladies Night!
Gatto Blanco/ Av. B 8
Hotel Rooftop bar next door to Tantalo hosting live entertainment and house music. Home of the $1 Sangria. I think Sangria is trash but you may love it, Enjoy!
Chupitos 507/ Calle Pedro J. Sosa,
SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS EVERYBODY!!!!
Lively club blasting top 40 through the creases, blocked by door security and black glass. I never found anything about this place on Google but I kept walking by hearing Cardi B (2018 was her year) so I had to go in. Disco vibe with flashing lights, excessive drinks and a 2 story dance floor.
LazoTea/ Av Eloy Alfaro and Calle 11
Rooftop bar with swimming pool that you can actually swim in. Skyline views to die for, classy crowd, sophisticated atmosphere and friendly bartenders.
Relic Bar/ 3-28, Calle 9a Este
Small, cave-like, underground club, popular with backpack travelers, playing mainly Rock and House music.
